Red berries, some cassis, fresh structure, lively acidity, red forest berries on the finish, an approachable and lively food wine. 90-92/100 The Drink Business Colin Hay 23/04/2025 A little closed aromatically when tasted after Duhart under leaden clouds in the chai at Duhart-Milon. The acidity gathers towards the finish and contributes to a sapid wave of energising freshness, but it also destabilises the evolution of the wine over the palate. The slender frame fills out a little with aeration, but this lacks density and compactness. One senses a little the challenges of the vintage and there’s a lot of Merlot in this – not the easiest varietal in these parts in this vintage. A little un-delineated in the mid-palate. Il ne l’affirme pas, il le chuchote et laisse donc entrevoir de belles finalités. Il a bien raison… La fraîcheur du Cabernet mêlée au charme du Merlot mène à une symbiose réjouissante. L’ampleur est affichée dès l’attaque. Elle n’est pas dominante, elle est simplement rassurante et confère une sérénité bienvenue. Carruades annonce un très grand vin, c’est son job, il est ouvreur de pistes et il assume cette tâche avec brio. Les tannins encore quelque peu serrés sont en phase avec la tension de la structure acide et la finale insiste sur ses aptitudes dédiées à la fraîcheur des baies rouges. 2029-2047
